What a great trip North.., too short, but a memorable adventure, skiing in a new mountain range with wonderful people. Can't wait to return for more turns and maybe some fishing, climbing, river running and hiking. You have terrific guides, pilots and aircraft. The lodge staff was very warm, the food excellent. The ski terrain is wild, elegant and visually stunning. Mike

Tweedsmuir Lodge Summer Activities

"Soft adventure... providing you with civilized hospitality while you experience the magic of Bella Coola's spectacular wilderness!"

Tweedsmuir Lodge is nestled within Tweedsmuir Park, the largest protected park in British Columbia. 70 km's by road from the Bella Coola Harbour, the lodge is remotely situated on 50 acres of wilderness land. Originally built in the early 1930's as a hunting lodge it was rebuilt in 1952. The lodge is known for its warm, family style environment.

Tweedsmuir Park and the Bella Coola valley are overflowing with wildlife and removed from civilization. Where the spectacular Coast Range Mountains meet the lush valley floor and unspoiled rivers, the scenery here is unrivaled.

The Lodge has the most exquisite of views and  sits near the base of an 8,000 foot rock peak. You are only steps from the Rainbow Trout, Dolly Varden, King, Pink and Silver Salmon-filled Atnarko and Bella Coola rivers..both world-renowned for fly fishing. The deck of the lodge and all of the beautifully constructed cabins overlook a vast property where Grizzlies, Blacks and Cinnamon bears are often seen. Historically this area has been a bear sanctuary and several wildlife groups come specifically to view the bears. The valley is a rich and diverse mosaic of culture, which include the Nuxalk First Nations, descendents of the Norwegian settlers and various other blends.

Observe many species of birds, including Bald Eagles, the endangered Trumpeter Swans, Hummingbirds, Owls, Falcons, Hawks, Kingfishers and well there are just too many to list there. Sit by a roaring fire in one the lodge's two huge fireplaces, have a beverage on the deck, take in the breathtaking mountain views, read a book, or partake in the many adventures this area has to offer. It is your getaway from the hustle and worries of the outside world!

Lodge amenities include:
